Announcements for July 6, 2025

On Saturday July 19, we will have a garden work party to help maintain our beautiful gardens, starting at 1:15 and ending at 4:30. Everyone is welcome, including children, for any length of time. No experience is needed, and tools, gloves and training in simple tasks are provided. Please bring your own lunch and snacks. Guruji said: “In time you will find Him ever with you…a God whose face peeps at you from every flower and shrub and blade of grass.”

On Friday July 25, we will have a commemorative meditation and service for Mahavatar Babaji. The commemorative service will begin at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by a silent meditation from 7 to 7:45 p.m. During the meditation, ushers will allow late arrivals to enter quietly, preserving the sacred atmosphere. Those attending the commemorative service are asked to bring a flower and a monetary offering in an envelope as a symbol of their love and loyalty. Flowers will be available at the Center as well.

On Saturday, July 26, we will have a 6-hour Kirtan meditation from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for Mahavatar Babaji. Group Energization Exercises will be practiced at 9:40 a.m. and there will be a 30-minute break at 1 p.m.

We are seeking volunteers to help with the audiovisual meditation services at our Center. This is for AV mixing and setup for Saturdays and Sundays. Prior experience is not needed. If you have the desire to learn and serve, Anand Balanchandran will be teaching anyone interested following the Sunday Service for the next several weeks.

We hope you had a blessed Convocation this past week. The recorded sessions from Convocation are available online on the SRF Youtube Channel for viewing later at the best time for you.

Happy Father’s Day to all! Following service today, we will celebrate Father’s Day with a catered tea reception. All are welcome to attend in fellowship. 

We are seeking volunteers to help with the audiovisual meditation services at our Center. This is for AV mixing and setup for Saturdays and Sundays. Prior experience is not needed. If you have the desire to learn and serve, Anand Balanchandran will be teaching anyone interested following the Sunday Service for the next several weeks.

Please note that Saturday meditation is cancelled for June 21. During the week of Convocation from June 22-28, there will be a separate schedule of events at our Center, which you will find on our website and on printed schedules available in the Social Room. We are seeking volunteers to help with the audiovisual meditation services at our Center. This is for AV mixing and setup for Saturdays and Sundays. Prior experience is not needed. If you have the desire to learn and serve, Anand Balanchandran will be teaching anyone interested following the Sunday Service for the next several weeks, starting June 15. 

Given the upcoming Seabeck Regional Retreat, our Center will be closed for Saturday and Sunday meditations and services on June 7 and 8.

Following this service today, we will have a reading service in Spanish from 12:15 – 1 p.m. Printouts will be provided with words to the prayers and chants in Spanish. All are warmly invited to attend.

Our next Day of Service will be on May 31. It will begin following the morning meditation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome to join in the joy of fellowship and service in cleaning, organizing, gardening and carrying out maintenance projects. If the weather is sunny, we will be staining the new fence and invite helpers. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter the chapel during the noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time.

Our Center will be closed for Saturday and Sunday meditations and services on June 7 and 8 during the retreat.

We will commemorate the birthday of Swami Sri Yukteswar on Saturday, May 10. We will have a silent meditation from 7 – 7:45 p.m. during which it is permissible to quietly enter at any time.  After a 15 minute intermission, the commemorative service will begin at 8 pm. Please bring a flower and a monetary offering. All monetary offerings from Commemorative Services are always sent to SRF International Headquarters to support the worldwide spiritual work of our Gurus. 

On Sunday, May 11, we will celebrate Mother’s Day with a tea reception and fellowship after the Sunday services. The Center will provide light fare and beverages, and additional contributions of vegetarian snacks are welcome.

If you haven’t signed up yet for the Seabeck Regional Retreat, we invite you to do so as registration is now open on the Center’s website – srfseattlecenter.org. The retreat will take place from June 6-8 this year at Seabeck Conference Center near Hood Canal. This silent retreat allows a once in a year opportunity to withdraw into stillness and silence as we seek the presence of God through meditation and prayer. Sri Yukteswar Birthday 6-hour Kirtan Meditation, Saturday May 3

On Saturday, May 3 we will have a 6-hour meditation with kirtan from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. commemorating the birthday of our paramguru Swami Sri Yukteswar. Group energization exercises will be practiced at 9:40 a.m., and there will be a 30-minute break from 1 – 1:30 p.m.
