Pre-Christmas and All-day Christmas meditation

There will be pre-Christmas 4 hour kirtan meditations held on Saturday, November 25, Saturday December 2 and Saturday December 9. The all-day Christmas meditation will be held on Saturday, December 16, and will be led by Brother Sarvananda and Bramhachari Klaus. 

Thursday Service canceled for November 23

Our Thursday evening service on November 23 will be canceled in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Announcements for November 12, 2023

Day of Service

Thank you to our many volunteers who participated in the Day of Service held last Saturday. The giving of your time and your selfless efforts are so appreciated, and the Center benefits from the focused attention to maintenance and organization tasks. For those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to participate in a Day of Service, our next one will be held in the New Year, and announced ahead of time. 

Diwali Tea Social

Directly following the service, there will be a special tea social to commemorate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which is being celebrated throughout India today. All are welcome to share in the joy of fellowship, and enjoy the food and sweets prepared by our volunteers. We thank everyone who helped to make this a special occasion for all gathered here today.

Youth Group Kirtan November 12

On Sunday November 12, our Youth will lead the Kirtan during the Reading Service. Since November 12 also falls on the celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, there will be a special tea social afterwards commemorating it with Indian food and sweets. All are invited to attend.

Announcements for October 29, 2023

Chanting Session in Spanish & English

Directly following the Sunday reading service today, we will have a 1-hour chanting session of Cosmic Chants in a combination of Spanish and English, held in the chapel starting at 12 p.m. Printed sheets will be provided with the words to the chants. All are welcome, including children, for any length of time.

Day of Service November 4

On Saturday November 4 we will have a Day of Service. Join in the joy of fellowship and service in cleaning, gardening, organizing and carrying out maintenance tasks at the Center. Following the Saturday morning meditation which ends at 1 p.m. lunch will be provided, then we will work on service projects up to 5 p.m. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter the chapel during the noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. All are welcome at the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time.

Day of Service November 4

Join volunteers at the Center on Saturday November 4, for some organizing, cleaning and landscaping duties. Day of Service will begin following the morning meditation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome to join in the joy of fellowship and service in cleaning, gardening and carrying out maintenance projects. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter the chapel during the noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. Lahiri Mahasaya Long Meditation

We will have a 6-hour meditation on Saturday October 7 to commemorate our param-param-Guru Lahiri Mahasaya’s Birthday and Mahasamadhi. The meditation will be from 10am-4pm, preceded by Group Practice of Energization Exercises at 9:40 am.

Announcements for September 24, 2023

Lahiri Mahasaya Services

We will have two commemorative services in honor of our Param-Param-Guru Lahiri Mahasaya this coming week, held at the Seattle Center of SRF in Shoreline. On Tuesday September 26 we will commemorate his mahasamadhi and on Saturday September 30 his birthday. On each of these occasions, the service will begin at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by a silent meditation from 7 – 7:45 p.m. 

There will also be a 6 hour kirtan meditation in honor of Lahiri Mahasaya on Saturday, October 7, from 10 to 4pm, preceded by Group Practice of Energization Exercises at 9:40 am.  

You are all warmly invited to join in for these events. More information is available on the Center’s website at srfseattlecenter.org.

Fruits for Distribution

There are baskets with fruit offerings at the doors, and you are welcome to take some of this fruit as you leave today.
