Announcements for November 27, 2022

There will be 4 hour pre-Christmas kirtan meditations held on December 3rd and 10th. The all day Christmas meditation will be held on December 17th. 

We will have a Christmas potluck following the Sunday Service on December 18th. You are welcome to bring a vegetarian dish to share with others on that day. 

We will be decorating the Christmas tree in the chapel following Sunday Service next week, on December 4th, and all are welcome to join in. 

The subject for today’s DVD service is: “Being a Spiritual Seeker in Today’s Complex World.”

Please note that Inspirational Service on Thursday, November 24th, is canceled to honor the Thanksgiving holiday. 

There will be a 4 hour pre-Christmas kirtan meditation on Saturday, November 26th, from 10 am to 2 pm. There will also be 4 hour pre-Christmas kirtan meditations on December 3rd and 10th. The all day Christmas meditation will be held on December 17th.

Please note that Inspirational Service on Thursday, November 24th, is canceled to honor the Thanksgiving holiday. 

There will be a 4 hour pre-Christmas kirtan meditation on Saturday, November 26th, from 10 am to 2 pm. There will also be 4 hour pre-Christmas kirtan meditations on December 3rd and 10th. The all day Christmas meditation will be held on December 17th. 

Following the service today, there will be a brief message from the Coordinator, Niriksha Malladi, on updates on a couple of ongoing projects at the Center.

The Managing Council is pleased to announce that Teresa Davis has accepted the role of Committee Chair for Sunday Tea Receptions. Starting on November 20, we will have the return of tea services with light refreshments following Sunday Service. We are grateful to Lynnie Dhanak for chairing the committee for many years and are grateful for the volunteers who will be assisting weekly.

In order to relive the joy and blessings of Convocation, we will be replaying the recording of the 2022 Convocation 3-hour meditation led by Bro. Chidananda on Saturday November 19th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

To assist our audiovisual team, we are looking for volunteers to help setup and run the projector for Sunday Services for the once a month DVD service. If you would like to help, please leave your name and contact information at the Information Table. We are also seeking volunteers to assist with security for the Center. We will replay the YouTube recording of the 3-hour 2022 Convocation monks’ kirtan-meditation on Saturday, October 29th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. We will also replay the YouTube recording of the 2022 Convocation 3-hour meditation led by Bro. Chidananda on Saturday November 19th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The subject for today’s service is “The Light of Truth Eternal.”

All are invited to attend a One-Day Retreat at the Center on Saturday, October 15, between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be periods of group meditation, Energization Exercises, readings, kirtan, a lunch break, and free-time to walk the grounds, read quietly, or meditate.

On Saturday, October 29, for the 3 hour meditation from 10am to 1pm, a replay of this year’s Convocation kirtan by monastics will be broadcast at our Center. You are welcome to join in for the chance to experience kirtan from Convocation once again.

Announcements for October 2, 2022

All are invited to attend a One-Day Retreat at the Center on Saturday, October 15, between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be periods of group meditation, Energization Exercises, readings, kirtan, a lunch break, and free-time to walk the grounds, read quietly, or meditate. 

We are resuming Sunday School and Youth Group classes every other week in October, and the schedule is now available on the website. 

Since the Center’s reopening in January of this year, we experienced our largest gathering last Sunday during the monastic visit. We are grateful to have met so many in fellowship once again, and to welcome new attendees. The photos from the monastic visit are now up on the Seattle Center of SRF website. 

The subject for today’s service is “Realizing God in Your Daily Life.”
