Our annual summer picnic will be held at nearby Hamlin Park following the Sunday services on July 21st. All are invited for food, fellowship, and games. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. The center will provide veggie burgers, buns and condiments. Directions to Hamlin Park are posted on the bulletin board in the social room.

On Saturday, June 22, we will have our Summer solstice outdoor kirtan meditation from 3 – 9 p.m. The usual 10 a.m. meditation is cancelled. There will be a 30-minute break from 5:30 – 6 p.m. with Group Energization Exercises practiced at 5:40 p.m.

On Sunday June 16 we will celebrate Father’s Day with a tea reception and fellowship after the Sunday services. The center will provide light fare and beverages, and additional contributions of vegetarian snacks are welcome.

Our annual retreat at Seabeck will be held this year June 7 – 9 led by Bro. Sevananda and Br. Kapildeo.
On Saturday evening during the Seabeck Retreat, the monastics will give a Satsanga (answers to spiritual questions). If you have spiritual questions that may be beneficial to the group, please submit them to the box in the social room, or through the Contact Us form on our Center’s website.
Next Thursday June 6, our weekly Inspirational Service at the Seattle Center of SRF will be led by monastics. Please note the start time of 7 p.m. Following the service at 8 p.m. there will be tea and snacks in the social room with the monastics. The study group will be cancelled that day.
During Seabeck retreat weekend, parents are being notified that the Sunday School and Youth Group will be canceled on Sunday June 9th.

The year 2020 will mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of our beloved Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, in the United States. Plans are underway for Self- Realization Fellowship to commemorate this momentous historical event with several celebratory activities. As part of this celebration, Mother Center is collecting written testimonials from devotees and friends whose lives have been touched by our beloved Guru and his Kriya Yoga path. Please see the detailed letter on our social room bulletin board with more information about providing a testimonial.

Announcements for Sunday May 26, 2019
We will have our next Day of Service on Saturday, June 1st. A vegetarian lunch will be served directly after the 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. meditation, and then we will do projects around the Center up until 5 p.m. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter quietly and join the last hour of the group meditation in the chapel either at 12:00 noon or 12:30 p.m. chanting. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time that you can stay.

This year’s Helping Hearts Farm to Food Bank Project to raise money for organic produce to be given to HopeLink Food Bank was overwhelmingly successful! We raised $2,285 which will provide fresh vegetables for roughly 40 families this summer, more than double what we were able to give in past years. Paramahansa Yogananda said, “I will use my money to make the world family better and happier, according to the measure of my ability.” The Helping Hearts committee expresses deep appreciation for all who contributed.

The annual Helping Hearts Fundraiser, to purchase organic local produce that we will donate to the Hopelink Shoreline Food Bank, will take place today after the service. Please join us for snacks, sweet treats and chai. The funds from this bake sale will purchase fresh vegetables to be given to the HopeLink Shoreline Food Bank for 20 weeks this summer. The produce that the food bank receives from Helsing Junction Farms is repackaged and distributed and serves 20-25 families a month. Our goal is to raise $1,560. Thank you in advance for your generosity to the people in our neighboring community.

We invite children between the ages of 7 to 18 to the SRF Summer Day Program in Encinitas. With guidance from SRF monastics, children will have an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and learn SRF techniques of meditation. The program also features a “Parents Day” at the Encinitas Temple that will include a class and satsanga given by the monastics on spiritual parenting. The girls’ week will be June 24-28 and the boys’ week July 1-5.
