Announcements for October 6, 2019

All are invited to attend a One Day Retreat at our Center on Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be periods of group meditation, Energization Exercises, readings, kirtan, a lunch break, and free-time to walk the grounds, read quietly, or meditate. The detailed schedule for the day is listed on our website’s online calendar.

We will have our next Day of Service on Saturday, October 19. A vegetarian lunch will be served directly after the 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. meditation, and then we will do projects around the Center up until 5 p.m. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter quietly and join the last hour of the group meditation by entering the chapel during the Noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time that you can stay.

The Seattle Center of SRF will be hosting a public “introductory event” titled ‘Meditation: The Source of Lasting Joy’ on Wednesday, October 23 at the Eastside Baha’i Center in Bellevue. SRF Monastics Bro. Nakulananda and Br. Troy will be here for the event, which will include a public talk, a guided meditation, and an informal reception to allow attendees to find out more about the SRF teachings and sign-up for the Lessons. If you are available to help put up flyers around town please contact Anand Balachandran.

A note about parking on the day of the event: If the Baha’i Center lot is full, additional parking is available at Kindering, across the street from the Baha’i Center, just past the Bellevue Fire Station. There is also ample street parking near the Kindering lot and the Crossroads Park.

The monks will lead our Sunday services here at the Center on Oct 20, and a 7 p.m. inspirational service on Tuesday Oct 22.

The subject for today’s service is “Life a Cosmic Motion Picture”.
