Our next Fall Day of Service, will be this coming Saturday, Nov. 1st, immediately following the Kirtan meditation. We will focus on cleaning, dusting, landscape clean-up, and other service projects from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. A vegetarian lunch will be served. All are welcome, including children, for any length of time to join in the joy of service.

The General Membership Meeting led by Managing Council will take place on Sunday November 9. You are all invited to attend to review 2025 activities and budget planning for 2026. There will be a special presentation highlighting possibilities for interior renovations and exterior additions to the Center, and your feedback is valuable. The meeting will run from 12:15 pm to no later than 2pm, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you’d like.

Happy Diwali!

You are all invited to a potluck following the Reading Service, to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, and enjoy divine fellowship.

Kamalananda sends a warm personal message saying he is very eager to reconnect with old friends and make new ones! Following the Sunday Service on Nov. 16th, we will have a potluck fellowship with the monastics. You are invited to bring a vegetarian dish to share.

The title for today’s Service is: Reincarnation: The Soul’s Journey to Perfection.

There will be a one-day retreat held at the Center on Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme of the retreat is “Make God the Polestar of our Lives.” There will be periods of group meditation, Energization Exercises, readings, kirtan, a lunch break, and free-time to walk the grounds, read quietly, or meditate.

You are all invited to a potluck on October 19, following our Sunday Service, to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, at our Center. Feel free to come dressed in your Indian finest to mark this special occasion and share in a meal with others. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. You can find the signup for the potluck in the Social Room.

This coming Tuesday, September 30, we will commemorate the birthday of our param-param Guru Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m. Please bring a flower and donation to offer during the Service.

We are happy to announce that the Center will be offering lessons in devotional chanting with the harmonium starting on October 11th on Saturdays and Sundays. On the power of devotional chanting, our Guru said, “Chanting is half the battle.” We hope you will avail of this opportunity. Musical skills are not required. Please sign-up in the sheet by the bulletin board, if you are interested.

This Friday, September 26, we will commemorate the Mahasamadhi of Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 27, there will be a a long kirtan meditation, with Group Practice of Energization Exercises at 9:40 a.m., and meditation from 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. (with a 30-minute break at 1 p.m.)

Following the Service today, we will have a 1-hour session of chanting from 12 – 1 p.m. The theme of this chanting session will be “Invoking the presence of Divine Mother” in which we will sing songs to the Divine Mother from the Cosmic Chants book and some bhajans. The session will be mostly continuous chanting interspersed with a few short periods of meditation. All are welcome for any length of time.

All are welcome to join in the joy of fellowship and service in cleaning, organizing, gardening and carrying out maintenance projects. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter the chapel during the noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time.

Today, following the service, you are invited to stay back for about 15 minutes as we honor our volunteers before hosting a special Volunteer Appreciation Event featuring a delicious catered Indian meal. All our dear volunteers and those interested in volunteering are welcome to attend. We will briefly hear from the Coordinator of the Managing Council and the different committees before proceeding to the luncheon.
