With the approaching Christmas season, we are looking for individuals who would be interested and enjoy decorating the Center for the joyous festivities. If you are interested, please reach out to Bona or Anshika on the Flower Committee.

We are happy to let you know that SRF Monastics Brother Keshavananda and Br. Leon will be visiting the Seattle Center for our Spiritual and Social Christmas. The monks will lead the Thursday evening Inspirational Service on Dec. 11th, the All-day Christmas Meditation on Saturday, Dec. 13th, and the Sunday Meditation and Service on Dec. 14th. We will have an opportunity to visit informally with the monastics at a hospitality tea on Thursday evening and a Christmas potluck on Sunday. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share for the potluck.

In preparation for the blessed All-Day Christmas Meditation, we will have 4-hour pre-Christmas Kirtan Meditations on Saturdays Nov. 29th and Dec. 6th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The All-Day meditation will be held on Dec. 13th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The normally scheduled Inspirational Service on Nov. 27 will be canceled owing to Thanksgiving.

Our Video Service today is titled: “Living with Gratitude” by Sr. Brahmani.

The Seattle Center of SRF is blessed and honored to be hosting Bro. Kamalananda and Br. Rahul this weekend. Bro. Kamalananda serves on the SRF Board of Directors and works very closely with our revered President, Bro. Chidananda. Br. Rahul assists Brotherji in the manifold tasks associated with the Office of the President.

Immediately following the Service, we will have a group photo with the monastics here in the chapel. Our Sunday School children will join us for the picture.

Due to time constraints, we will not be offering any counseling appointments with the monastics today. We will have another monastic visit in just under a month as well as other opportunities for members to receive spiritual counseling.

Following today’s Service and group photo, all are invited to a potluck fellowship where each of you will have the opportunity to visit with the monastics.

The Seattle Center of Self-Realization Fellowship is joyfully organizing a Food Drive to support the Hopelink Shoreline Food Bank, now through November 23rd. You are invited to share in this spirit of service by offering vegetarian, non-perishable food items, which may be placed in the collection box in the foyer. We are delighted to share with you that as of today, the Seattle Center has donated about 320 lbs of food to the Hopelink Food Bank. Thank you for your generous heart and support.

You are all invited to enjoy light refreshments just prior to our Annual General Meeting, which will start promptly at 12:30 p.m., here in the chapel. We will review 2025 activities and budget planning for 2026. There will be a special presentation highlighting possibilities for renovations and expansion to interior spaces at the Center, and your feedback is valuable. The meeting will end by 2 p.m. latest, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you’d like. We look forward to your participation.

There will be a special presentation highlighting possibilities for renovations and exterior additions to the Center, and your feedback is valuable. The meeting will run from 12:30 pm to no later than 2 pm, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you’d like. Please pick up a flyer from one of the Greeters.

There will be a one-day retreat held at the Center on Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme of the retreat is “Make God the Polestar of our Lives.” There will be periods of group meditation, Energization Exercises, readings, kirtan, a lunch break, and free-time to walk the grounds, read quietly, or meditate.

You are all invited to a potluck on October 19, following our Sunday Service, to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, at our Center. Feel free to come dressed in your Indian finest to mark this special occasion and share in a meal with others. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share. This coming Tuesday, September 30, we will commemorate the birthday of our param-param Guru Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m. Please bring a flower and donation to offer during the Service.

We are happy to announce that the Center will be offering lessons in devotional chanting with the harmonium starting on October 11th on Saturdays and Sundays. On the power of devotional chanting, our Guru said, “Chanting is half the battle.” We hope you will avail of this opportunity. Musical skills are not required. Please sign-up in the sheet by the bulletin board, if you are interested.

We will have two upcoming commemorative services and a 6-hour kirtan meditation in honor of our param-param Guru Lahiri Mahasaya.

This Friday, September 26, we will commemorate the Mahasamadhi of Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m. and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m.
(Please bring a flower and donation to offer during the service.)

On Saturday, September 27, there will be a a long kirtan meditation, with Group Practice of Energization Exercises at 9:40 a.m., and meditation from 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. (with a 30-minute break at 1 p.m.)
