Self-Realization Fellowship is pleased to announce the 2016 Summer Day Program for Girls from June 27th – July 1st, and for Boys from July 4th – July 8th. Children between the ages 7 – 12 and teens between the ages 13 – 18 are invited to attend. Student scholarships are available. For more information please contact Anand Balachandran. Registration is now open for our annual SRF Regional Retreat to be held June 10-12 in Seabeck, WA. More information is available on our website and in the social room

We will be having special services this month to commemorate the birthday of our Param Guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar. On Saturday, May 7^th we will have a Kirtan meditation from 3 until 9 p.m… On Tuesday, May 10th we will have silent meditation from 7 – 7:40pm followed by the Commemorative Service for Sri Yukteswar at 8 p.m.  Those attending the Commemorative Service are asked to bring a flower and a monetary offering.

We will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a potluck on Sunday, May 8^th. In celebration of our earthly mothers and our divine mother we welcome you to bring your mother’s favorite vegetarian dish to share. Please sign up for a dish on the whiteboard in the social room.

If you would like to help with the potlucks, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Tatiana or Karyn at seattleSRFsocail@gmail.com or sign-up on the blue sheet in the social room.

Our next day of service is on Saturday, May 14. The day will begin at 9:30 am with a meditation. We will have another meditation at 12:30 pm followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch at 1pm that will be provided. We will finish up projects by 4 pm. You may come for any or all parts of the day.  All, including children, are encouraged to attend.

All are warmly invited to attend our Second Coming of Christ study group, which meets on Tuesdays at 6:15pm.  For more information, please see the bulletin board in the social room. If you can’t attend all the sessions but would like to follow along on your own, starting point for each week’s study session is posted on the bulletin board.

The program, held in Encinitas, California, offers a unique opportunity and environment for Youth to learn and practice Paramahansa Yogananda’s How to Live spiritual principles. The annual Helping Hearts Farm to Food Bank Project is having it’s Bake Sale Fund Drive today. Please join us for sweet treats, other eats and chai. The funds from this successful bake sale will purchase a weekly share of fresh vegetables to be given to the HopeLink Shoreline Food Bank for 20 weeks this summer.  Our goal is $720.00 for the large share. Thank you in advance for your generosity to the people in our neighboring community. Financial contributions are also welcome.

Our annual Seabeck Retreat will be held from June 10 – 12 this year. This is an SRF Regional Retreat led by monastics and includes group energization, kirtan, meditation and classes.  Registration will start next Sunday, April 10th.  Registration will be available on our website.  There will also be printed forms for those who do not have web access.

Announcements for 3/20/2016

On Friday, March 25th we will have a three hour Kirtan meditation from 7 to 10 pm for Good Friday.

On Sunday, March 27th, we will celebrate Easter. The Easter Sunrise service will be held at 7 am outdoors in the courtyard.  Those who attend are encouraged to dress warmly. We will then have our regular meditation at 10 am followed by the 11 am Reading Service. Following the service we will have an Easter Potluck at 12 pm. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share and join in the fellowship.

This week we will commemorate the Mahasamadhi of our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda on Monday, March 7 and the Mahasamadhi of our Param Guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar on Wednesday, March 9th .
