Following the Service today, we will have a 1-hour session of chanting from 12 – 1 p.m. The theme of this chanting session will be “Invoking the presence of Divine Mother” in which we will sing songs to the Divine Mother from the Cosmic Chants book and some bhajans. The session will be mostly continuous chanting interspersed with a few short periods of meditation. All are welcome for any length of time. 

We will have two commemorative services and a 6-hour kirtan meditation in honor of our param-param Guru Lahiri Mahasaya this month. 

On Friday, September 26, we will commemorate the Mahasamadhi of Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m.  and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 27, there will be a a long kirtan meditation, with Group Practice of Energization Exercises at 9:40 a.m., and meditation from 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. (with a 30-minute break at 1 p.m.)

On Tuesday, September 30, we will commemorate the birthday of Lahiri Mahasaya with meditation from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m.  and the Commemorative Service at 8:00 p.m.

We are happy to announce that the Center will be offering lessons in devotional chanting with the harmonium starting on October 11th on Saturdays and Sundays. On the power of devotional chanting, our Guru said, “Chanting is half the battle.” We hope you will avail of this opportunity. Musical skills are not required. Please contact Anand Balachandran if you are interested.” 

Self-Realization Fellowship is pleased to announce the fall session of online How-to-Live classes for children and teens, which will be held September 13th through December 20th. Registration is now open, and information is available on the flyer in our foyer or in the Sunday School Room.

Our next Day of Service will be on Saturday, September 13. It will begin following the morning meditation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome to join in the joy of fellowship and service in cleaning, organizing, gardening and carrying out maintenance projects. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter the chapel during the noon chant, or meditate in the Sunday School room. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time.

Today, following the service, you are invited to stay back for about 15 minutes as we honor our volunteers before hosting a special Volunteer Appreciation Event featuring a delicious catered Indian meal. All our dear volunteers and those interested in volunteering are welcome to attend. We will briefly hear from the Coordinator of the Managing Council and the different committees before proceeding to the luncheon.

On Saturday, August 16, we will celebrate Janmashtami, a Commemorative Service honoring the birth of Bhagavan Krishna. The service will begin at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by a silent meditation from 7 – 7:45 p.m. During the meditation, ushers will allow late arrivals to enter quietly. It is customary to bring a flower and a monetary offering in an envelope as symbols of our devotion and loyalty to Krishna and the lineage of SRF Gurus. All donations from the service are forwarded to Mother Center. 

On Wednesday, August 20, there will be a memorial service for Pamela Brauner at 7:30pm. All who would like to attend are invited to do so.

The annual Hamlin Park Picnic and Potluck will take place today between 12:15 to 2pm at Hamlin Park, which is a short drive from the Center. All are invited for food, fellowship, and games. We hope to see you there!

On Saturday, July 26, we will have a 6-hour Kirtan meditation from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for Mahavatar Babaji. Group Energization Exercises will be practiced at 9:40 a.m. and there will be a 30-minute break at 1 p.m.

On Saturday July 19, we will have a garden work party to help maintain our beautiful gardens, starting at 1:15 and ending at 4:30. Everyone is welcome, including children, for any length of time. No experience is needed, and tools, gloves and training in simple tasks are provided. Please bring your own lunch and snacks. Guruji said: “In time you will find Him ever with you…a God whose face peeps at you from every flower and shrub and blade of grass.”

On Friday July 25, we will have a commemorative meditation and service for Mahavatar Babaji. The commemorative service will begin at 8 p.m. and will be preceded by a silent meditation from 7 to 7:45 p.m. During the meditation, ushers will allow late arrivals to enter quietly, preserving the sacred atmosphere. We are seeking volunteers to help with the audiovisual meditation services at our Center. This is for AV mixing and setup for Saturdays and Sundays. Prior experience is not needed. If you have the desire to learn and serve, Anand Balanchandran will be teaching anyone interested following the Sunday Service for the next several weeks.
