Seabeck Regional Retreat

Registration for the Seabeck Regional Retreat this year will open on April 14th at 2pm on our website: srfseattlecenter.org. The retreat will be held from June 7 to 9 at the Seabeck Conference Center, which spans Friday to Sunday. It will be led by visiting monastics, Brother Jitananda and Brother Maitrimoy. All are welcome to attend. For further information, please visit our website and stay tuned for email newsletters. You may subscribe to newsletters from the Center on the main page of the website.

Announcements for March 24, 2024

Easter Events Schedule

We hope you can join us for our services, meditations, and fellowship opportunities in celebration of Easter. 

On Friday, March 29, there will be a Good Friday 3-hour kirtan meditation from 7 – 10 p.m.

On Sunday, March 31, we will have Easter Sunrise service from 7 – 8 a.m. (held outdoors unless raining), followed by the Meditation service at 10 a.m. and Reading service at 11 a.m. There will be an Easter Potluck at 12 p.m. (please bring a vegetarian dish to share)

Then on Saturday, April 6, we will have an Easter 6-hour Kirtan Meditation from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The DVD Service for today is The DVD service today is Part 2 of a talk by Brother Achalananda titled Developing an Unconquerable Will. Brother Achalananda shares wisdom from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda on the relationship between energy and will power, how to use will to overcome habits and achieve our goals, and what it means to cultivate divine will on the spiritual path. This talk was originally presented at the 1997 SRF World Convocation in Los Angeles.

Spanish Reading Service

The Reading Service today will be followed by a second service in Spanish from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m here in the chapel. Printouts will be provided with words to the prayers and chants in Spanish, and all are welcome to attend!

Commemorative Services for Paramahansa Yogananda and Swami Sri Yukteswar

On Saturday, March 2, we will have a 6-hr meditation with kirtan from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Paramahansa Yogananda’s and Swami Sri Yukteswar’s mahasamadhis.

We will commemorate the mahasamadhi of Paramahansa Yogananda on Thursday, March 7th and the mahasamadhi of Swami Sri Yukteswar on Saturday, March 9th. On each of these occasions we will have silent meditation from 7 – 7:45 p.m. followed by the commemorative service at 8 pm. Please bring a flower and a monetary offering as signs of your devotion and loyalty. The ushers will allow late arrivals to quietly enter and join the meditation any time from 7 – 7:45 p.m. preceding the commemorative services.

On Saturday, March 2, we will have a 6-hr meditation with kirtan from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Paramahansa Yogananda’s and Swami Sri Yukteswar’s mahasamadhis.

We will commemorate the mahasamadhi of Paramahansa Yogananda on Thursday, March 7th and the mahasamadhi of Swami Sri Yukteswar on Saturday, March 9th. General Membership Meeting

Please join the Managing Council for the annual general membership meeting at 12:15 today to review 2023 activities and budget planning for 2024. There will be a special presentation highlighting the history of the Seattle Center. The meeting will run from 12:15 pm to no later than 2pm, and you are welcome to stay for as long as you’d like.
