Announcements for Sunday, May 6, 2018
We are pleased to announce that our annual SRF Regional Retreat at the Seabeck Conference Center will be held this June 8-10. Visiting SRF monastics Brother Ritananda and Brother Nikhilananda will conduct this year’s retreat. Please visit the Seabeck Retreat menu on our Center’s website to find further information about the retreat and the online registration form. There are also printed registration forms in the Social Room for those who are unable to register online. The monastics will lead the Thursday service on June 7th at 7:30 p.m. here at the Center.
SRF Youth Services invites all children and teens between the ages of 7 and 18 to the SRF Summer Day Program in Encinitas. This program ushers in a new era of training for youth in our Guru’s How-to-Live spiritual principles. With guidance from SRF monastics, teens and children will have an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God, learn SRF techniques of meditation, engage in fun activities and create friendships with spiritually-minded peers. The program also features a “Parent’s Day” at the Encinitas Temple, that will include a class and satsanga given by the monastics on spiritual parenting. The girls’ week will be June 25-29 and the boys’ week July 2-6. Please see the flyer describing the program, located on the Information table in the Social Room, or visit the SRF website home page and click on “Youth Events.”
On Thursday May 10 we will have a Commemorative Service for Sri Yukteswar’s birthday at 8 p.m. preceded by open meditation from 7-7:40 p.m. Please bring a flower and a monetary offering.
We will have our next Day of Service on Saturday, May 19th. A vegetarian lunch will be served directly after the 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. meditation, and then we will do projects around the Center until 5 p.m. For those who wish to come and meditate prior to the 1 p.m. lunch, you may enter quietly and join the meditation in the chapel either at 12:00 noon or 12:30 p.m. during a chant. All are welcome for the Day of Service, including children, for any length of time that you can stay.
All are invited to celebrate our Divine Mother and earthly mothers on Sunday, May 13th with a Mother’s Day Tea Reception after regular services conclude. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided, and please feel free to contribute a vegetarian appetizer or a dessert to share.
The subject for today’s service is, “Healing by God’s Unlimited Power.”
